“Starter homes” have become non-existent. We as a society need more housing stock for young adults, single by choice, and empty nesters. We can do this while preserving our open natural spaces, our precious farmland, and agricultural heritage.

Most cities in Oregon now allow for a second, detached dwelling on single family residential lots. If you are interested in downsizing but love your neighborhood and don’t want to move, or are tired of mowing a big back yard and want to make some rental income, or want to live close to family without sharing a roof, consider building an Accessory Dwelling Unit (ADU).
